When a piece of furniture incorporates a louvered element, like cabinet doors for example, it instantly reminds us of window shutters. The effect is usually purely decorative, but it can be useful as well. If you store items that should ideally be aerated, then the louvered doors allow air to go in and out of the cabinet, while still keeping the items out of sight, for an overall neat and tidy look.
