I tend to associate jackets that have patches on the elbows with college professors. Why teachers would wear these I’m not sure. Perhaps the elbows on their sleeves tend to wear away from putting them on a desk or the arms of a chair? Who knows. One thing is for sure though, this has become a style, rather than a practical solution to a problem. Top designers make these types of blazers, in many styles and colors.
