If you’re looking to redo your bedroom space but don’t have a lot of money to spend on new furniture, try a simpler approach. If you have a dark colored bedding set, dark purple for example, paint the wall behind the bed a shade or two lighter than the bedding while painting the rest of the walls a monotone color like grey or off-white/cream. This will make your bedroom pop with color and style.

Traditionally, one might say that the darker shades of purple are more masculine colors, while the lighter shades are more feminine. Personally, I find dark purple to be gender-neutral.
